Garden of Respite
“Urban distraction by stimuli, the automatism of reflexes at work, the flood of digital content, and even striking or showy nature photographs do not allow for focused inner dialogue. The less spectacular the landscape is to our eye, … the more radical the routine, even boredom, the more tender the observation. Subtle, gradual changes that do not shock the eye train our sensitivity to every shift on the horizon. Even a slight deviation—a hillock, a tree, a shadow, a shade, a wave on the river, the movement of grass—prompts reflection. A simple exterior nurtures a rich interior.”
P. Sasnal, Obserwuj, kochaj, pisz — czytanie J.A. Bakera [Observe, Love, Write: Reading J.A. Baker]

The meditative space of “Autopoietic Garden” was made possible by the City of Poznań Scholarship.
W trakcie wystawy miał miejsce poetycki performans Cezarego Markiewicza i Krystiana Zakrzewskiego, twórców profilu „TARGOWISKO MYŚLI”. Zainspirowani różnorodnymi środowiskami wystawy przygotowali poetycką podróż przez „Ogród Autopojetyczny”.

The garden is a place of interdependence. Materials, disciplines and stories intermingle here like roots beneath the surface of the soil. The boundaries between art, craft and nature blur in gestures of care and creative reworking. Each element exists thanks to the others, in a web of relations that resembles natural ecosystems.

The exhibition invites us to carry the way we observe nature into the gallery space. Spending time in this garden may feel like a slow walk through a forest or lying in a meadow: a moment of suspension in which attention sharpens on the small movements of matter, on the quiet rhythm of transformation.

In a time marked by crisis,"Autopoietic Garden"proposes slowing down. It encourages us to imagine resilience not as a force of domination, but as a capacity for regeneration and coexistence. Art emerges here not as a closed object, but as a shared practice: a space of encounter, care and a possible future.
